One for the Scots
Mars are supporting England's bid for World Cup 2006 by changing the name
of Mars Bars to "Believe".
This is the Tartan Army's response

No sign of the 75% of Scots supporting Engerland in here then .
Where did they do that survey - someone should tell them that Watford is in fact in Engerland

It may well be petty, and the reasons have been discussed on this board at length, but you can be sure Mars, for one, will lose sales because of this.
Of course there is nothing new in certain elements of the English Political and Commercial culture have no idea what makes Scotland, Ireland and Wales tick.
LOL

2. Did Scotland, N. Ireland and/or Wales qualify for the 2006 World Cup? If so, disgraceful of Mars only to support England. If not - why should they support a team which already failed to qualify?

Mars are at liberty to support whatever nation they wish. However, I don't recall Mars, or anyone else for that matter rebranding a product when another of the UK nations qualified and England didn't. Which has been known to happen from time to time.

You don't need to apologise to me for omitting that word, but if you think you were offended by the Mars rebranding, that's nothing to the number of Irish who'd have pointed out your omission. Roll eyes as you wish - I see it as quite ironic.
Back on topic - I found the original pic quite funny And are the English really expected to go into a shop and ask for a "Believe" bar?

Subtle difference between a lazy omission, and a concerted marketing effort from a global organisation
