New Mobile Phone Recommendation?
Another year is over so its time to upgrade. Currently have a Nokia 6230i which was ok apart from slow GUI/menu system and poor build quality (dust gets behind the screen and looks awful).
Looking for something similar - dont want a brick of a phone no matter how good the specs. Prefer to stick with nokia or samsung.
Any recommendations as havent kept up to date on the latest offerings.
Cheers,
Simon.

I agree with Burt
Switched yesterday from a Nokia 6230 to a Samsung D600E and apart from initial texting confusion ... who moved the space bar ? It's quality is apparent. Not 100% convinced about the call clarity yet and signal may be slightly down from the 6230 but it's much cooler and better made
Cheers
PS Camera and video features plus link to TV cables supplied (and USB cable) all superb

You can find some very honest customer reviews on 02.co.uk - put me off a number of high profile phones.
I went for the SonyEricsson K750i - which is simply awesome. I know it's not your preferred brand but I would at least take a look.
I'm used to the Nokia way of doing things, and there menu system is pretty good - however, the Sony is way better, a really well thought out OS and a brilliant all-round package. Although I don't use the camera that often the quality from the 2mp is great, and the video is good as well.
To top it all off I've used my PSP 1gb card in it, which transforms it into a 1gb mp3 player as well - top stuff
Just can't fault this unit really it even comes with the full hand free kit and USB connections
But deffo take a look at the reviews of 02

samsung have the d800 now - a 'superslim' phone. I think Phones4U have them to buy from this month...
Looks nice but it is only a 1.3 megapixel camera - same as my d500 and that's a bit shoddy after a while...

Try and steer clear of the V3 series, I've heard nothing but bad reports. Apparently the OS is pants, using it is a nightmare, and it's prone to freezing/locking. Plus many people say the battery life is a real problem. On the plus side they look good.
(I looked at one briefly until I read some honest user reviews )
