Business / Website Help
Hello
A friend of mine is deciding to try and fix / repair computers and I'm letting him use one of the domains I bought years ago as it is catchy (although not relevant).
What do you think to the site: http://www.sadandlonely.com/ and the potential for actually making any money!?
Thanks.
Steve

You might want to know that there is a spelling mistake on the hard disk recovery page. Haven't got time to proof read the rest, sorry.

Steve,
On taking a quick glance I think anybody claiming to be better than the competition really needs to be able to spell. There is also a 'spacing' error in the same paragraph.
Unparalleled
Haven't looked at the rest, but in reality I'd have carried on browsing.

Hello
Thanks for the comments. The spelling / grammar needs to be fixed (as I'm a bit, erm, an@l about that kind of thing).
I was more interested in the viability of the business and the site itself.
(Not link plugging really, as it's a limited market and area)

You need an angle, a USP, theres 100s of companies out there offering similar service, what makes your different? (not being arsy just playing devils advocate ) The disaster recovery stuff is interesting not too many people do that. The site doesnt really convey what you are offering, you need to sell me the benefits of what you do not have a website that just tells me what you do.

One small point, Steve.
You need to separate the actual business, from the 'sad and lonely' part.
Having an "I'm Sad" link in your main navigation is rather, well, odd, in my opinion.
What I'd be tempted to do, is create a small button, and place such in the 'footer' of each page (where the contact information is), linking to your "I'm Sad" page. However, with that page, I'd format it differently, so it's not as integrated as it is at the moment.
If you need a small button creating, I'll lend a hand, no problems.

Nice simple welcoming and well laid out site. I like the simplicity a lot. I dont like the name sadandlonely though. Not at all. You want to do business with people that are professional, competant and fun. The name does not convey that. Get rid of the name.
I also like the openess and the fact the prices are easy to find.

Thank you all for the comments. SadAndLonely was just simple to remember although confusing business wise I agree.
Mr Sti-04: I also own http://www.reallysilly.co.uk and http://www.sickandtwisted.co.uk so you are welcome to pick the site that best represents my personality traits.

I'm lucky to be able to keep my blatant free plug in my location field with you around!

I've been told that I'm a little too attentive when it comes to spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc. and have also been told that I have a very 'flowery' style of writing in reports, documents and the like.
