Default In the name of art ...

Hello

I do wonder sometimes ... http://www.markmcgowan.org/

In an extraordinary art exhibition, environmentally conscious artist Mark McGowan is planning to have six ordinary household taps turned on and left running every day for a year. The taps will be turned on simultaneously at 8am on Monday 20th March 2006 and turned off on 19th March 2007. Each tap will lose 15 million litres of water, making a grand total of 90 million litres of wasted water.

What a ****, if he wants to make the point about wasting water, why not just re-use the water coming out of the tap so it goes down the plug into a tank and just pumps up to the tap again? That way people could look at it and get the point, but it wouldn't waste any water.

It's like the idiots at greenpeace that went on about how dangerous to the environment nuclear power could be then promptly went on to try and force one to go critical just to show us.

Hmmmm. At first i thought WTF?!?!?!?!, wanting to turn the taps off and slap the fool, but I can see the point and I think it's quite clever.

If you* feel as angry and enraged as a Daily Mail reader as a result, maybe you start questioning yourself and your own water wasting habits. I reckon he's not really going to have those taps going for a year - it's just for the PR.

* not you, Boxst, but 'anyone'
