Just been speaking on the phone to a mate of mine, he is a little worried, his farther in-law has been travelling around south america for the last few months with friends, he was suposed to come back 3 weeks or so ago with the people he was travelling with but decided to stay behind on his own for an 'extra' bit of adventure.

Anyway, his return flight was suposed to come in yesterday and he wasnt on it, didnt check in and hadn't made any effort to re-arrange the flight for another time/date.

He has an English mobile phone with him, is it possible to trace to where the last place it was switched on or something like that? He was suposed to be flying out of Rio, but they are not even sure what country he is in.

I don't think the location can be traced unless it's switched on, worth speaking to the police i'd think.
