Post DVD Film: Wolf Creek

Got a good write up this, so rented it this eve.

Supposedly based (loosly I would think) on a true story of 3 backpackers getting taken hostage by some Ozzy Nutter in the outback.

Very average film, with not much happening for the majority of it, but if it is 100% factual, then it must have been pretty horific for those involved. Was expecting more tension.

Anyone know if the events portrayed in the film have any basis in reality?

Strange really that no trace of the killer was found IIRC. watched the film last weekend and thought for it too be a true story it had alot of holes in it. Think it was one persons story rather than a factual story.

I dont friggin know. its a film, use your imagination, maybe it only caught the side of his neck....

Like I say, lots of holes in the film, as in the Killer wasnt caught so who told the story cause the guy was in the cave the whole time the girls were alive. So how do they know what happened to them?

I watched it in a Cinema while travelling round Australia before christmas, scared the crap out of me.

It's based on real events, the recent falconio murder and also some backpacker murders a few years ago on the highway between Perth and Alice Springs.

Looking at the scenery, roadhouses, isolation portrayed in the film - that's exactly what it's like out there in the red centre (even down to the scary locals in some areas). You wouldn't want to be on the run ou there that's for sure.
