Can i get a phone number barred from being able to call/Text me? Other ideas?
Got someone ringing me who is doing my head in. A woman i used to see sometimes. She won't take no for an answer now and is ringing me late at night when she's pissed...and twice in the last week it's been when i'm in bed with the missus. Obviously this has not gone down at all well and the missus is beginning to doubt that she can trust me as this 'ex' has been ringing.
I've told her to never ring me again, leave me alone, i'm happy now etc and she agrees to this and apologises. Then she gets drunk at home or when she's out and starts ringing/tetxing me with nonsense.
I thought that phone networks could bar specific numbers from ringing or texting me? I've phoned Orange and told them i'm getting abusive calls but the guy said that they can't bar specific numbers. My phone does not allow me to bar specific numbers either.
Has anyone ever managed to get a specific number barred? Is it possible?
Any other ideas to ease the situation?
I know i don't have to answer my phone or reply to texts (i don't) or i could turn my phone off....but why should i have to do that?
Quite pissed off now!
Any help appreciated

I need to have it on often for work or other people calling me. Also, she'd just leave loads of messages on answer phone and texts that would all come through in the morning when i turned it back on. Don't want to get a new number either just becuase of one woman who's being difficult as i've had my number 6/7 years.
Surely there must be a way to stop just one number from being able to ring mine?!?!

On my Nokia 6230 you can go into settings and then tone settings and change the alert from all calls to specific groups, of course you would have to allocate a 'friendly' group to everyone else and a give her an 'unfriendly' group if you get my meaning.

You say she's apologetic when sober etc. Is this sincere? If so, speak to her and ask her, that if she's genuine, to delete your number from her phone.

Okay according to the online manual you need to go into contacts-more-edit contact then select ringtone. Now I'm assuming you can use recordings as ringtones, you can on my nokia and yours is a newer phone, and all you need to do record nothing and set it as the ringtone.

[quote=Nat21 It's just when she's drunk she can't seem to control herself...[/quote]
Sounds ideal to me. You might want to re-visit that decision.

I personally wouldnt change my number after having it for longer than 5 years,there may be someone important who has your number,and you may not have theirs in your phone book.
I have a friend who keeps changing his number to take advantage of new offers,I dont know what his numbeunless I get it from my phone,I cant be bothered memorising peoples numbers who keep changing them.
