What's wrong with it?

Sky does seem expensive, but is far and away leader of the pack. I can't stand cable.

Never had a problem with my Sky............

Smoe engineer are better tha others, sky's CS is still one of the worse imaginable, they really do not seem to care.

From experience.
Ther are only three things to go wrong
The box - swap it out, i should know having had 5 in the last year
The dish itself - very unlikely and the LNB (bit on pointing back at the dish the sticky out pole) relpace the LNB and realign the dish
The cable - change the cable
Non of these are difficult and a monkey could do it

I would call, get through to disconnections, explain the situation.Tell them that if they do not credit the period of trouble up until the next engineer comes out then you will leave right now + get a 'emergency' urgent engineer visit sorted out.

They are cr@p but not real alternative at the mo.

lol@Sky 'engineers'. About as much to do with engineering as a nail bar capuccino monkey.
I stopped my subscription last year and have made do with the freeview.

Engineer is a term used too frequent to be honest. You have to be chartered to be classed as an engineer.
As for Sky, i have 3 boxs in my house & all with full access, so it costs me £55 a month for the lot. Took a bit of messing around as Sky wanted £72 which is a downright disgrace.

Please, they're not engineers! Technicians at best.

I had to spend four years at University before I could call myself an engineer so please don't give these monkeys who fix up satellite dishes the same title.

Rant over

S'funny this thread should appear just now.

We sat down to watch Top Gear last night on the Sky+ and ...hey presto ! It and all the other 10 or so programmes we had saved had all evaporated into thin air!
This isn't the first time it has happened. On speaking with Charlie and Jim at SKy , it transpired that we have been experiencing these problems since last April.
So, the "Technician", is coming here on Friday. I seriously hope we end up with a "New" box.
I've been sniggered at thus far when we've lost my Dickens series etc but last night was a different story when Top Gear went .
I get the feeling that these boxes have been released onto the unsuspecting general public before they have been deemed technologically reliable for public useage.
We wait and watch (or don't watch as the case may be !)
Yve
