Filthy Britain
Have you looked at the verges when driving along the motorways these days. Theres hardly a patch of grass thats clear of paper, platic, bottles etc.
Whatever happened to people being taught to take their rubbish home.
Dont people have any pride any more. I guess not.

Has anybody actually got anything good to say about Britain on this BBS????
Try living outside of Britain before condeming the place then you will realise the grass is not always greener on the other side.

I try and reduce the amount of roadside litter by flicking ciggy ends at it, trying to burn it away.
I used to attempt to cause other road users to come off the road (and therefore squash the litter into the ground) by the use of front fog lights, however this was not successful and resulted in high blood pressure of at least three scooby drivers (preventing them from fully shining their halos up).

I was brought up to respect the environment and put rubbish in the bin or take it home. But then again I was born in the 70s so am in the last age group to respect old fashion values and also the police no matter what I think of them.

I think there should be an initiative where the police pull people for littering, and make them spend ten minutes picking it and other litter up. Or maybe a freephone number where you could report people for littering? It is unlikely the police force would make any money out of it, therefore it is not a priority. Send letters on an old Bacon and Egg McMuffin wrapper to Gordon Brown or Clarke. Or Blair. Or Blair.
Obviously, flicking cigarette butts isn't littering as such (although it is paramount to criminal damage........)

If you don't like it, seek alternative ways to get to where you want to go where people are not dropping litter.
I really hope some people from the smoking thread see this because there is ABOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE in what I have said above and the arguments on the smoking issue.

Is there a difference between dropping litter on the floor or littering the air with smoke?? I can see none whatsoever. On the whole, I would prefer the former over the latter.
N.B. Where smoke is from a non value added exercise named smoking, not emissions from a tool like a car.

Nothing to do with slating Britain Wurzel. It all about the total lack of responsibility and thought for others and respect for our country which is being demonstrated by so many people these days.
I agree with Chip wholeheartedly.
