C'mon fitness people, what should I do
I play hockey (astro) every saturday and sunday no probs. However, this weekend I have 2 games on sat and 2 on sunday. Any recommendations to get me through it energy & muscle wise?
Lots of pasta for dinner and a good warm up b4 the matches. Anything else?
I've done 3 in a weekend a few times and by the end of the 3rd game, the calf muscles are struggling a little. The 2nd game tomorrow is the hardest/highest level so may try to take it a little easier in the other ones.

Warm down and stretch well after the match.
I've been running 10km two to three times a week and recently hurt myself through not warming down properly. All fine now, ran 10km last night and warmed down properly and feel fine for another 10km tonight.
As far as energy, sounds like you have the right idea - plenty carbs

£40 for a milkshake you are joking
Will warm up and stretch b4 and after each game. TBH, it's not the energy thing that wears me out, it's the calf muscles that are always the first to go. Common in hockey as lot of lower leg work in the game. Back is the other concern.

About twice as many men play hockey than women do.
It's also the fastest outdoor team sport I reckon. The ball can be one end to the other in a very short time. None of this namby pamby football/rugby malarkey where they can rest 'while the ball is at the other end of the pitch'
Anyway, it's fun and a lot less to$$ers than you'll find on common or garden footy/rugby match.

Hey, only the Goalkeepers ever get a rest in football. I play Right back and hardly ever get to stop running for 10seconds at the most.
