When will politicians learn.
Its not about whether you're hetrosexual, homosexual or bisexual -its about whether you lie when asked simple questions.
"Unintentionally Misled" my ****. he outright and intentionally lied.

This is B.Liars legacy. Ability to lie to the British Public now seen as "a leadership test".

Secondly, dishonesty is the thing most people hate about politicians. Honest from the start and he wouldn't have had a problem.
Apart from people like pslewis going round and throwing stones through his windows!!!!

In 1997, you could have said "Vote Labour and get a Private School Dreamer with ZERO experience".
People did.

The Liberals have a long and distinguished history of sexual delinquency, so this should come as no surprise, although I think it does show how short sighted they were in getting rid of Kennedy which is turning into a right old can of worms. It's a shame as I've met the bloke several times and he seemed quite open for a polly but it now seems as if Campbell will get the leadership by default unless he has any skeletons in the closet.

Roll up, place your bets ladies and gentlemen:
2:1 on skeletons in Menzies closet.
5:1 on Menzies coming out of his closet.
7:2 on the LibDems rebranding from orange to brown.

1.You're admitting that you are different to most other people.
2.For anyone in public life being gay is a "handicap".
3.It cant be easy for your parents, relatives etc.

If you aspire to a high position in public life one of the vital requirements is that you can be seen to have real morals and can set a good example to others.
That does not include telling lies to the public when you are asked an awkward question. As was said in Question Time last night. How can he ever be trusted to tell the truth again?
PSL,
I can't believe why you even bother to post a bunch of rubbish like that. It just makes you look an even bigger fool than you are.
Just explain your take on Billy and his rather queer cronies who spend their time sucking up to him in order to extend their careers. And how do you explain all the spin, lies and doublespeak which has been the trademark of this bunch for the years since they got in so that they can hide their gross ineptitude and self aggrandisement.
Its no good using the NL trick of just stating that its is different to how it actually is. We can all see through that.

& if I was a Tory i'd be a bit worried ...as iirc the biggest shift in the last election was from Labour to Lib Dem ...& that was on the back of the Lib Dems left wing stance on the war in Iraq & Students tuition fees ...i wonder where those voters are likely to go @ the next election!

I await the response eagerly too. That has to rank as one of the most blatantly homophobic statements i've ever read on Scoobynet. Sure there are probably many others thinking along the same lines, but to see it written is quite a surprise, i have to say.
Come on then Mr Kiwi - let's hear yet another of your pearls of wisdoms. Why is having gay liaisons a "crime"..??

Thing I ask myself is this:
If a politician is vague about his sexuality and then comes out as being straight. Will he be treated in the same manner as if he did the same but came out as gay.
Personally, I don't care about the sexuality of politicians (or anyone else for that matter), it has no real relevance to their ability in doing their job. For many people coming out isn't easy so when asked earlier on in their lives, they will be hesitant to reply or will 'let' people believe they are straight until they are ready to come out. Leave them alone imo.

Problem is, Drac, that Simon Hughes wasn't vague about his sexuality. He actually denied being gay in several recent interviews. It's not being gay that is the problem, it's the lies.

I'm more liberal than most but it doesn't mean that I enjoy having the fact that people are gay rammed down my throat all the time. If they are gay so what.
