Photographs Lost In Post

Photographs Lost In Post
I sent some photo's off to Truprint (of Christmas and New Year) and just realised this morning that I havn't had them back yet
I spoke to Truprint who confirmed they recieved them on the 5th January, and turned them round the next day - it looks like they've got lost in the post
Has anyone been in this situation before ? Not sure what to do next, or what to do in terms of compensation
Any advice appreciated

Any advice appreciated
2) don't get valuable or sentimentally important things sent through the post in future, including Recorded or registered post as they are just as bad
3) ask the developers to re-develop from the negs if they still have them
4) don't look for compensation as it's pathetic for something like that and it's one of the things that's turning Britain into little America
Have a nice day now

After a mate's film went missing, probably delivered to someone else, he used to use tyhe first shot on every film to photograph his name and address on a large piece of card.
That way, if they go to the wrong person, you have a chance of 'em coming back.
Postal film processing though?
I stopped using them when I noticed that almost EVERY shot I got back was blurred on the left hand edge, whereas NONE of the negs were, that objects I'd carefully lined up central, and which were central on the negs, appeared at one edge of the prints, and when I got my SECOND film back with half the prints back to front

Photos can go missing whether they're posted or taken into the shop! I had a roll of film 'lost' by Boots after taking the film into the local shop. To make matters worse it was from my honeymoon in Barbados I ended up with £125 compensation - not enough to get me on a plane back there though

I used to be a manager with Royal Mail Customer Service and we used to get this all the time.
Presuming the company used RM, RM will not pay compensation. If you're really determined to persue a claim then it is the sender who's responsible for the safe passage of the goods - this may mean using Special Delivery (they would then claim from RM, but only the value of the goods in real terms i.e. the cost of the printing paper).
In short and as I always wanted to say to customers if a call found it's way through to me, you're fcuked mate

as a postman
Here is a bit of info, i had a lady ask me if i knew,
same situation... but missing just one set,
she got one, lost one.
TRUPRINT CAN TRACE IT, but only after about 1 month,
they find out what MAJOR depo it went to,
see if they have it lying around (incase it split, address got lost etc..) from there see what office it went to, see if they have it etc....
If no joy some SAD postman has stolen them.....
