anybody put one of these on there screens?

i only found out quite recently that the sticker with my MOT was supposed to be displayed

what is the whole idea behind them?

if its a little sort of square sticker in the upper corner of the windscreen then yeah we've had them on, not all the time I don't think, but if it's not that then I haven't a clue

The police can now read a car reg and it comes up whether the car has an MOT or not .......... no need for silly stickers these days

The wife's car has had them - the garage put them on when they do the MOT (funnily enough ).

My guess is that the police can pull you over to inspect your car if you haven't got the sticker.

the mot tester never told me about mine, it was one of my staff who told me, i did wonder what the crappy sticker was for when i had the MOT done

I had my car MOT'd on Tuesday, I got the new style certificate and the lad said the sticker is to stick on the window screen although you dont have to, there isnt a rule that says you must.

That may be their underlying motive, but I doubt you'd get them to admit to it directly

If the government have these computers that when they read a cars reg gives all details - MOT, insurance, tax etc whats the point of still having to have a tax disk displayed then?

Look at the bottom of the certificate, the sticker is there, it peels off.

Here's the best one. You could have your car MOT'd yesterday, get stopped today and told your car is not roadworthy.

All it takes is a deep cut in the tyre sidewall, run out of windscreen washer fluid, or a bulb to blow etc- when it was fine yesterday

Makes the sticker/certificates/number plate check all pointless

the sticker does not need to be displayed, it is just a reminder for the car owner thats all
