Unhappy Another good day for burying news :(

Once again lying NL are spinning there way out of another failed policy.

and to make it even worse its the number one lady of the moment who,s involved...

It appear that LNL (Lying new labour) are due to release the latest schools exam results this week, and triumphantly crow about the 55% increase in pass/ good grades..

AND NOW THE TRUTH

however thats not the full story, the figures published ommit the results for english and maths, which if were included would show a DROP in standards (now theres a surprise)

LNL intend to publish the maths and english results later, after the others have gone into print.

Another 2 fingers to the public,

four legs bad , two legs good

Hence the leak from Scotland Yard about Fathers for justice. Leaked to the Labour news paper, aka The Sun.

Seems nothing was done, no plans were made, yet someone may have said, in the pub, "it should be done to show the lieing cu*t what its like". Takes the pressure off the Ruth Kelly business I suppose and discredits a valid organisation.

Tony Blair, you have rights to your kids because you allow laws that make your Mrs money. If it was any other way, you'd understand what the guys are going through

(No women in her right mind would stay with a blatent lier)

Is the 55% relative or absolute? I bet it's relative knowing spin and NL.

e.g. out of 100 students, 4 got grade A last year. Next year 6 get grade A. Relatively, that's a 50% increase in those getting the A grade. Sounds good doesn't it.

Now, look at properly.
out of 100 students, 4 got grade A last year. This year, out of 100 students, 6 got grade A. That's an increase of 2 people. Out of all the students, that means and extra 2% got grade A.

And the truancy figures came out this morning - that was fun to watch the minister squirm.

Minister: "Well abscence figures are actually down this year"
GMTV Presenter: "Yes but only when you include authorised abscence, which is indeed down, but actual truancy is up by 5,000 to 55,000 per day"
Minister: "But some of our worst schools are getting good GCSE results"
GMTV Presenter: "But your flagship colleges rank amongst the worst in the country"
Minister: "The weather's warm for the time of year isn't it?"

British Education has slid into a state of chaos under Kelly.

When you see those claimed success rates you also have to remember the standards that those are set against. When we look back on the fact that someone got a pass mark in a maths exam for 14%, then that rather gives the lie to the shouts of jubilation.

Quote from said article

Ms Kelly said: "I deeply regret the worry and concern that has been caused to parents over the last few days. I'm determined to do all I can to ease their concerns.

"It's time to overhaul the system. We need a system where child protection comes first, above all other considerations."

She said there should be "absolute clarity" in a "rigorous" system, which was still fair to individuals
Unquote

What is she on??

if she wants to ease our concerns, she should resign!

Overhaul they system?? there is, was, a system that should have been implemented 2 years ago following the Soham incident, why wasnt it is more to the point. And why did she still overrule the police when advised against employing these people.

Absolute clarity, ffs you couldnt make it up, since when has LNL been clear on anything?

and fairer to individuals, perleese, what about all the parents who want to know where paeds are living, and is there little one in any danger.

its time for a change, NL no longer works

Oh I LOVE it: hoist by their own petard, league tables!

Unfortunately, SCHOOLS that are made to look bad by poor results DON'T have the choice of when, and what to release, do they?

Lying Labour B*stards!

To be fair to Ruth Kelly, the current state of the education system can hardly be blamed on her, the foundations of today's chaos were laid by Roy Hattersley & Barbara Castle in the '60s with their great 'comprehensive' experiment
Kelly is merely the latest in a long line of political activists (of Left & Right wing persuasions) who sincerely believe they have the divine right to **** with the futures of the nations children just to make cheap political capital

Interestingly enough had my A2 General Studies exam today, and it was based on the state of the education system.

Hmm not sure if I answered the question properly, but made my feelings known

Red face Exam results league tables

just had our local league tables published in the local paper tonight,

pretty damming argument against the current regime !!

of the comprehensive schools all 36, the highest percentage for 5 a-c grades was 83% at one school, and the lowest 23%

on average 54% passed and all bar one had had on average 1% truanacy

now look at the independant schools in the area

same criteria

highest percentage recorded 100% and the lowest 70%

the average was 91.9%

no truancy figures were reported.

what scares me is 46% of our children are being let down, why??

he screws us for enough tax so he says to reform our education system..

its about time he gave some value for money.
