Default Hotels in Paris?

Any recommendations from anyone. Close to the sights preferably. No more than £150 per night if possible.

Hotels in Paris are some, if not the, most expensive in the world as far as price to quality goes.

For 150 you'll get a reasonable 3 star I'd imagine, centrally.

George V is regarded as one of the best and i felt it was worth the premium.....

we stayed in a small pleasant hotel called hotel Belgrand - only 27 rooms, althought they claim the rooms are soundproofed!!! After my stay i have no reason to doubt that. The metro entrance is right by its front door and you are only 10 minutes away by train from the tourist attractions. There is also a fantastic Chineese restaurant just right across the road from it. Room rate is about €80. Near Pere Lachaise cemetary (grave of Jim Morrision, edith piaf and many other well knowns) in the 20th Arrondissement.

Looking at the booking rates for Feb it's around 100 euros pr night.
(85 Euro for Jan) Nothing fancy but was clean, warm, tidy and the receptionist spoke english.
30 secs walk to tube station to go anywhere..

Depends what you want really: I've been many times, and each time, have stayed in a "Climat" chain hotel.
The rooms are about €70 per night, per room, NOT per person, with breakfast being about €7 per person. Leaves you a fair bit to spend on an evening meal and wine

Cheap, easy booking, en-suite facilities and decent breakfast, but no meals other than breakfast. All the ones I've been in were an easy walk from the metro, never more than a 5 minute walk.

Still, who needs it when there are so many interesting restaurants to choose from?

Thanks everyone, I'm going to the 'Bercy too. If I stay near the venue is that close enough to the sights?

Its the week after valentines so thought I would treat the missus a bit (but not enough to go on valentines night itself!)

The bercy is at the bottom of the same street as the hotel I chose above, 10 min walk down past the open air market (if you pick the right day)
As I said 30 secs walk up the street and accross the road is a tube station that'll take you to whichever sightseeing expedition you want to go on.
I was on tube trains no more than ten mins at a time.
It's just like London really, everything colourcoded as to which lines go where.
It's not as daunting as it might appear (my first Adult / organiser time in Paris)

P.s Who you going to see.
P.P.s the "Cafe" by the steps to the main entrance of the Bercy was nice food although the language barrier was a bit more difficult there (which surprised me) but I didn't end up with Roasted Toads or anything so wasn't that bad.
P.P.P.s Paris isn't that big, with a map of the place from one of the info points, it's hard to get lost.
I think we did all the main sites in a day.

Cheers Andy, appreciated.

I'm going to see Depeche Mode. The idea is I take the lady to paris, see the sights and then take in a show in the evening

I'm also seeing them in Manchester, Birmingham, London. Nearly went to Vegas and may still go to Gothenburg. Good job they only tour every 4 years, I have to save up.
