Default american plug adapters ???

right im off to america in 4 days and its getting really hard trying to find 110vlt supply leads for all my phones and devices. i have a few things that are to hard to find new 110 leads for america so are there any adapters i can buy quickly that will charge my uk plugs to american??? even if it will be at a slower rate due to power change ???

You can get adaptor at most airport type shops Steve...... when i went i took my car charger for my phone..!!

You can buy an invertor,like a transformer in reverse,steps up the voltage from110v to 240v,only works on low wattage appliances.I have one in the van that does 12v upto 240v,enough to charge torches,cordless drills,etc.

most modern PSUs will auto-switch when they detect the lower voltage...
... dont worry about it, just get a US - UK socket convertor thingy and you're sorted.....
wasnt a problem for me anyway!

bloody hell i really didnt think you could get these things ???? my lass is doing her nut as she has hair striaghtners and ive told her they wont work over there lol

i have one in the garage but it doesnt have a USA plug

Most electronics work on both. My cameras, camcorder, mobile and i-pod (well if it hadn't broke before I went) worked fine when I went to Alaska in June/July.

It'll be cheaper for your lass to buy a set of straighteners when she's there

All i bought was an adaptor to convert 3 pin UK plug to a two pin US one.

Actually I am reliably informed that although the hair straighteners take longer to warm up on 110V, they still work fine.
