Default Going to get banned

Have now got 13 points on my licence (not banned as given exceptional hardship) got pulled last night by an un-marked police car doing 60 in a 50 (clear dual carriageway) looks like i'm fecked, will get a ban, probably lose my job and will have to sell my scooby. Very blue at the moment.

Told me they have been told to clamp down on speeding this christmas, you have been warned!! yet another perge on a soft target!

What i don't understand though is that i drive about 40,000 miles a year and am only aloud 12 points, my grandad who drives less than 2,000 miles a year is allowed 12 points. By pure probability i'm likely to get caught by virtue of the fact that i cover so much mileage.

Yes i know that i should slow down a bit, but its not as if i drive like an idiot everywhere, speed in built up areas or weave in and out of traffic like i see some drivers do.

Doesnt sound good - has to be worth getting onto pepipoo.com and trying every little get-out or loop-hole that there is.

Pretty pointless having the scoob on your current 13 points to be honest, shouldve sold it for a very slow diesel or soemthing!

Bad luck mate It's so very easy to get caught these days. Still maintain the money they waste on catching people speeding should be put to better uses.

unlucky chap, but if I had the amount of points already I would be mega aware of every single speed limit out there just in case. Defo with the mileage you do.

Unlucky mate, hope they are gentle with you!

There is a definate clamp down at the moment.

I was followed for 5-6 miles saturday afternoon by a police officer, who admitted he was waiting for me to 'blast off'. I didn't even notice him, he must have been a few cars back. I was only doing 65-70 on a motorway, when he realised i wasn't going to speed he then pulled me over and did me for my small numberplate.

Apparently having a small numberplate is now a terrorist threat, as if there was an attack and the torrorists used an Impreza my small numberplate would make it hard fot the police to track me.

I have been caught 4 times in the last 18 months, and yes once was very deserved as i was easily exceeding the limit, however the other three are marginal offences, yes i agree maybe i haven't learnt but by the same token there can't many people who stick to the speed limit everywhere they go and i would be amazed if you were in that catergory.

When i was sat in the police car last night another WRX drove past and both police officers took a long hard look at it!!

The annoying thing is that they were ignoring the cars overtaking me (doing at least 80mph) and one car pulled out right infront of me, cutting me up, and they had the cheek to say ''you were travelling a bit close to the car in front at one point!'' When i pointed out that he'd cut me up they just said ''yeah, i suppose he did a bit''.

Gary, I always had my suspicions about you ; I'm fairly sure you must be in with some shady characters to get those great quotes!!!

open roads, i make progress

if i get tagged then so be it...

So they were clearly looking at things from a road safety point of view then!! Makes me angry when I hear of police behaving like this. They probably just didn't like the idea of a relative young un in a scooby.

Ever notice when you get a few convictions under your belt you get pulled more often.

Coincidence?

Maybe, Maybe not....depends how much you or your driving sticks out like a sore thumb

You'll know which is which when you loan your car to the missus/friends and it still repetively gets pulled (talking from experience here ).

Never speed around town, that's just stupid, pedestrians, kids etc. Open roads, yes i make a bit of progress. Three of the fines have been on dual carriageways the other on a motorway.

My tough luck i guess.

Being discussed HERE and HERE are the details. Write to your MP now unless you like the idea of your free movements being tracked and monitored without warrant

Unfortunately i have a FMIC on my car, and is not easy to fit the numberplate on. The from the front mount more than makes up for the from the police!!!

Yes i know it is too small, my point is why couln't he just say that, instead of the lecture about me being a terrist threat.

Yep, thats what i thought. Have decided to finally get my fiesta on the road as my second car now, getting too much attention in the scooby, even by sitting at/below the speed limit minding my own business.

It beggars belief that a small numberplate can be linked to terrorist activity!

What utter crap ................ if you were not acting illegally then you could drive 1 Million miles in a week and NOT get caught ONCE!!

The reason that you have a higher probability of getting caught is because you will be breaking the law more times than your grandad does!!

Simple as that ..... and, sorry, if you haven't seen the error of your ways a BAN might give you some time for reflection.

It would take some doing - there are 168 hours in a week so that works out at 5952mph AVERAGE!! Nothing illegal apart from breaking a few laws of physics!
