Got back last Friday.
We stayed at the Cloisters Inn. Best price we found was via HotelConnect. It gets good reviews on TripAdvisor and we found it excellent. Clean, tidy, friendly staff etc.
I thought it was a good position for the different parts of town centre - Charles Bridge, Castle, Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square and the rest. Quick and easy to get around on foot (with the help of a map).
Found a cracking tea rooms on the road up to the castle - superb honey cake
Had a great time, only wished it would have snowed!

Seriously though, want somewhere that is romantic but close to everything.
Also people who have been, did you do the flights and hotel seperately?

We flew with BMI Baby, back with EasyJet - both from East Mids. That way we got the best flight times (earlier departure, late back home) and got more time in Prague then if we flew with the same company both ways.
Hotel booked via website I linked to above.
I'm sure you could find a nice boutique, romantic hotel - how much do you want to spend?

I've always booked flights/hotels seperately and used the net to book it all. I've used CSA, Globespan and Easynet for flights in the past.
I've stayed here on my last few visits - http://www.andelshotel.com/content/en/1.php (just a minutes walk from the Metro too)
It is getting spoiled by loads of stag do's, but you can easily avoid all those. Tickets for the National Theatre are dirt cheap and a great way of starting off a nice romatic date. Stick to the more historical parts of the city if you want to avoid the drunken British yobs

went with Letsgo2.com last month, not bad prices, though I caould have got cheaper flights at worse times of day
stayed in Old town - the best part I think.
Easy enough to get round on foot. Try a walking tour to see the interesting bits.
As usual in tourist places, look away from the main routes for food - you can get a decent meal an a couple of beers for <£10 in some cracking little bars.

It's a fantastic place, but I'm biased. I always walk (best way of seeing any city) or use the Trams and Metro. Cheap as chips.
It's was feckin freezin when I was there last Xmas, so make sure you've plenty of warm stuff if you're walking around the city at night.
Also watch the taxis don't rip you off - ask at the Hotel for a rough price between places just so you know what you should pay.

We got a taxi from the airport (agreed price before getting in) and one back (arranged by the hotel - cheaper than the incoming leg) but otherwise walked everywhere.
The park / gardens up by the Petrin tower are a nice place for a stroll - loads of red squirrels to watch.

We stayed at the radisson off the square, which was a reasonable hotel and good value. My tip would be unless you are intending for more than a dance, don't bother with the brothels as the women certainly aren't the best. There are however clubs like Goldfingers that have very good girls, and a couple of very hi-tech rippers clubs a little further out of town are well worth the visit.
Oh, and always negotiate.....

If you're going for a romantic few days, avoid the New Town / Wenceslas Square area, as the constant hassle from hookers and pimps and stag groups will get to you. I'd probably look to stay somewhere close to the Old Town square, as there are lots of lovely old streets, buildings, restaurants and markets, plus pretty much everywhere you want to go will be in walking distance.
If you're looking for somewhere nice to eat I would highly recommend Kampa Park, which is at the western end of Charles Bridge http://www.kampagroup.com/en/ (this seems to be regarded as the best restaurant in town). Or for a lovely romantic traditional Czech meal, try U Modre Kachnicky 2 (The Blue Duck) in the Old Town http://www.umodrekachnicky.cz/home2.htm I've dined at both of these places and was extremely impressed - you'd spend a serious wedge in London for this level of dining.
Gary.

Well, Kampa Park was very nice - thanks for the tip! I had lunch today at their sister cafe, the Cafe Flambée. I've never had a burger containing foie gras and truffle mayo before... mmm!
