Next Question ....
.... I am getting a house built, which will be ready late 06, now i want to put what you can call a lifestyle package into it.
Basically i have seen some Bett Showhomes that have the Cat 5 cabling through out & they also had speakers located in the ceiling, in the main bedroom, the kitchen & the main hall.
They had located in the wall a little grey box with an LCD screen that was connected to an I-pod ??? Now i couldnt find this I-pod anywere in the house ?
So the question is, is there a website that i can look at getting this equipment that i am after ?? I am also looking to put a small home cinema in the house, so i am looking for some advise on this also. But bear in mind i aint looking to spend a fortune.
TIA

it looks a bit hard then
I will do a bit more research into it then, though i have about 9 months before i have to start spec'ing the interior.

Put cat5 throughout my 1930's house, and that wasn't hard, so gonna be a piece of pi$$ in a new build.....the key is in the wiring....put in LOADS, and you can't go wrong for future expansion. Remember, cable is cheap as chips.

PS If you're going newbuild, I'd specify ducting for the cabling (remember, separate ducts for mains and comms). Makes it easier to replace in the future, and also should make it more resistant to mice/rats etc gnawing through it....

The gates were already here when I moved in mate.
They are a substantial set and are very heavy. They are approx. 4.5m x 2m ish
I am going to get a blacksmith to make a smaller (and prob lighter) version to seperate the rear area of the property from the rest as the "dog zone".
Now that my arm is out of the sling I will be looking to get the automation on to them soon. http://www.faac.co.uk/set1.htm
I have done a few sets with my mate and some the sets of gates that the blackys can make up are amazing.

My drive is to be kinda as you want, seeing as the house is semi - rural, i just want to make is as secure as possible. I dont know any blacksmiths but i suppose a few enquiry's would solve that.

BTW, let us know what systems you are looking at.....I am thinking of this kind of thing too.
I was considering beo-link for the house but by the time I buy more speakers ect to go with existing kit I could go LCD everywhere with Media Centre running the show for a fraction of the cost
I would be interested to hear of any experiences
(sorry for the semi-hi-jack)

In that case I may be able to put you in touch with a few blacksmiths who's work I have seen and rate.
I will give you a shout once I get a hold of their numbers.
