Like girl singers and Synths? Resist (resistmusic.com) has free downloads and are touring with The Fall.
Saw Block Party a couple of weeks ago.
Going to see Mystery Jets (mysteryjets.com) in a couple of weeks.
Buy a copy of the NME - loads of new bands with free downloads on alt websites

I currently like Alter Bridge...some of their songs rock! plus anyone who has a PRS signature model named after them can't be a bad guitariist (Mark Tremonti)....they're touring in November too.

Arctic Monkeys, Nine Black Alps, The Editors, Hot Hot Heat, Test Icicles, The Kooks, Kasabian, Interpol, Maximo Park, Kaiser Chiefs, Hard-Fi
I could go on and on but there are loads of top rock acts around at the moment! Try watching MTV2 or listening to Radio 1 after 7pm through the week to hear some decent records being played.

I like Arch Enemy's music a lot, they are very talented musicians....the growling isn't my favourite part though.

Damn, some one's beaten me to Arch Enemy!
Either - Wages of Sin, Anthems of Rebellion or Doomsday Machine (latest CD).
Other newbie that's out is Disturbed - Ten Thousand Fists (worth buying just for their cover of Genesis's 'Land of Confusion')
As for other great albums -
Strapping Young Lad - Alien
Obituary - Frozen In Time
As per STI-Frenchie - can't go much wrong with Mudvayne (finally picked it up), SOAD, Fear Factory or Cradle of Filth.
