i-Pod / MPŁ - Clueless persons in a rush type question
I have a 36 hour journey to Rio via Chicago on Saturday, the walkman has had its day time to move on
2 questions
Q1: 512 mb i-pod or 512 mb cheapo MP3 player (not likely to use very often)
Q2: I have plenty of tracks ripped to the pc already, how laborious is it uploading to an ipod or MP3 player, not gonna have a lot of spare time between now and Saturday, so is it even worth getting either ??
Any advice appreciated
Cheers

Count on 60-70mb per ripped CD and you aren't going to get much onto 512mb of player - 7 CDs max?...not enough for me if it was 36hrs to Rio...and I'd need some nice choons if I was lazing on the beach

Ł12.57 for MP3 player that will read SD cards
You could have a fair amount of music quite cheaply with this option. With a few extra cards, you would have a pretty big choice!

Surely battery life is going to be an issue as well if your going on a 36 hour trip. Might be worth looking for one with easily changeable batteries.

Rio made the best DAP units but closed up shop a few months ago due to Apple's superior marketing. I have a Rio Karma & it's a superb unit. Dixons have some Rio Carbons in stock at a fantastic price of Ł109 here: http://tinyurl.com/agoeh. The Carbon has 6gb storage & 20 hours rechargable battery.
