A week in Canada - worth it?

A week in Canada - worth it?
I have a week off work in November and could go and visit a friend in Canada. My question is, is it too far to go for such a short time?

Where in Canada are they? I had my cousin come over to Toronto for a week, they did Niagara falls, CN Tower, and various other bit's a bobs.
Would you go to New York for a week? If so, then Toronto is not that much further flight time wise really.

No.
1 week, depending on where you go is more than enough
You'd be able to cover off Vancouver and surrounding areas in a week
For Toronto you only need a few days - to go about Toronto and Niagra falls, on the other side of the bay on Lake Ontario
But depending on where you go its pretty cold -so I wouldnt really recommend it at this time of year.... I have relatives in Toronto and Vancouver - Vancouver is one of my favourite places in the world (other one would be Cape Town - if I had a week in November this is where I would go!)
Will probably be snowing in most places in Canada

Weather in Toronto at the moment is around 8C with a min of 2C, so a little chilly, but no snow at present, first weekend in November looks to drop to around 2C to 0C but no snow predicted through now until 9th November. I don't recall seeing snow here until around mid December.

We did 7 days in Calgary 2 years ago (company paid for us to go over there for the christmas party.. I know lucky aint I ) that included 1 night in the gorgeous Banff and 6 nights in Calgary, we would have liked to have been there longer but hey I wasnt complaining, we saw pretty much everything we wanted to see in that area, went skiing on the slopes of the Winter Olymipics where Eddie the Eagle did his famous jump, did all the shopping, the meal in the tower, blah blah .... Lovely place and definately recommended

-11? Pah! that's a t-shirt and shorts day lol. Thankfully it's a dry an not a damp cold over here, makes all the difference. i still remember the first time I saw my cars outside temp gauge read -17C. You know it's a bit chilly when they say that with wind chill it'll be -32C. That's in Toronto to, I dread to think what it's like further north

Go for it IMO, generally go to Canada once a year even if its just for a week. Shouldn't be too cold yet, I was there in August and it was still high 20's most days, going back in Jan to Banff for 10 days, expecting it to be around -20 at worst through the day and -30 at night isn't as bad as it sounds as its a dry air.

I'm off for a fly-drive early next year - just planning it at the mo. On the recommendations of a friend who's been there 7 times in the last six years I'm flying to Calgary, collecting a Chevy Blazer and spending 8 days travelling to Vancouver, stopping over in Calgary, Lake Louise (via Banff), Icefield Parkway, Jasper, Fraser River, Kamloops and Vancouver.
Apparently a week is plenty of time to see most of the things you'd want to see along the way (if you're not too interested in Winter Sports) and to cover reasonable distances along the way.
So I'd say that a week's trip at this time of year to a single location would be well worth the distance. Flying to Van from Heathrow takes about 9:45, so it'll be even less to Saskatchewan.

It's the second biggest country in the world, so no, you won't cover it all in 7 days Just pick an area and do what you can in the 7 days. If you like it, come back another time for longer. You've little to lose.
