Would have thought it'd be more down to presentation? Your fat and ugly, we dont want you as the face of our company... we'll employ him instead, more likely to crack on with work rather than take a quick break to nip into maccy dees
Not my opinion off course as Im not fat and Im a lazy bassa

LOL @ the replies
This is totally out of order. I recently went for a contract at a modelling agency but was told that I didn't have the right look. So what if I am 20 stone, not every guy is perfectly shaped!

If an employer doesn't want to employ someone cos they are fat, surely it's up to them. Disregarding of the "odd example" of obescity due to a genuine problem, the majority are fat due to lifestyle - surely that refelects on ability to work, the ability to diversify work, attention span and the fact that all the cakes will be had when someone has a birthday.

How do you class someone as fat though?
I'm 17 stone, over 6ft and quite well built and would class myself as overweight, purely because I like my food
Some of the skinny 7 stone keyboard heroes on here would probably say i'm fat, but i'm fairly sure I could work most people into the ground when it comes to employment and jobs.
I'd class myself as quite big, but I dont look too bad, can still play sport, ride bikes and fit into my 205 buckets, and I think i'm fairly in proportion body wise so can someone confirm why i'd be unsuitable for a job.
If anyone wants to come and call me lazy to my face feel free, i'm up in Lancs
Bring on the skin and bone

obviously weight isnt the issue cause you can be heavy but well porportioned to your height etc etc....
To be honest I dont give 2 hoots what anyone looks like (just dont expect me to fancy them ) but being big is different to being fat IMO....

Face it - most of us are discriminated against for one thing or another - sex, colour, disability. Doesn't make it right - just a fact of life.
Wouldn't want the law to force an employer to employee me if all I was going to get was grief if I worked there. Laws don't change people's prejudices, they just offer some sort of protection - if your able to use them (proof being hard to come by and being labled a trouble maker for taking an employer to court).

LOL at the replies, I just sent this in
I think its disgusting - any sort of weightism. We should have more obese jockeys in the Grand National, and that Seb Coe should insist on skinny shot-putters for the London Olympics.

I'm 6ft 4in and umm, 17 - 18 stone (have not weighed myself for a fair while so not exactly sure lol). Yeah I could lose a few pounds and will do come the new year, but I need the extra fat layers to deal with the cold out here that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it
As for the person not getting the job because they were a chubby bugger, well, as said by others, if they were to be the "face" of a company and that company wanted to display a lean/fit image then, well, the porkster would munch that idea right out of the window, it would be akin to Ronald MacDonald being a Marlon Brando lookalike, not the best move.
If the person could actually do the job, as well as, if not better than a less flabby applicant then there's not reason the chubmeister should not get the job.
