Why can't people on ebay read?
I sold some tyres I had kicking about in the garage on eBay, they ended up going for 1p which I'm fine with as I was only going to chuck them and I'd rather they went to someone who's going to get some use from them. Adverts clearly stated "Will only arrange local pickup due to bulk of items", this being partly due to the fact I knew they'd make next to no money so I didn't want the hassle of packaging and dragging them to the post office.
So what's waiting for me in my inbox this morning? An e-mail asking for postage costs to the other end of the country!
I guess I can kiss my 100% +ve feedback goodbye thanks to the loser's inability to read

the distance doesn't matter, I've not seen different prices for different parts of the country
Tell them it's £150 to deliver.
Same happened to me i said collection only and had a few people ask about postage so I said £25, turns out it was nearer £40 fair play to the buyer he coughed up the extra with no complaints

After a few e-mails is fair enough, but just sending a mail saying "How much for postage?" and no other chit-chat takes the mick. Then e-mailing me again as if I hadn't already explained why I wouldn't post them just winds me up further!

Update:
So the guy eventually says "send me your address and I'll sort out picking them up" so it's all sorted, right?
No, get an e-mail today that says "can you tell me how big they are and the weight, oh and can you package them up?"
God, give me strength!

He wants to use a courier to collect them...
I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that for all the hassle, time and effort involved you would be better off working a shift at the local chippy then sell on eBay
(And you should get some free chips )

Tell him to send you 4 printouts of his address, that you'll tape them to each tyre, then tell them they weigh 8kg each and to tell his courier he's picking up 4 items to 1 address. You also need to know what day the courier is picking them up, since they will be left in the front garden on the day, and you can't guarentee they'll still be there once you've left for work.
You can't say fairer than that!

Should have put them on your local freecycle group - where you give things you don't want away - condition is that they are free.
However, even with that, our local group is now getting some cheeky people on it.
ie
"Wanted : Bicycle for lady. Must be in perfect working order. Don't have a car, so if you could also deliver it to me, that'd be great."
Another one...
"Wanted : TFT monitor. Must work, preferably 17" or above."
Give me strength!! I guess if you don't ask, you don't get...BUT there's a limit!
