Anyone been to Koh Samui south of Thailand???
Going February next year for 2 weeks through my fiance's work. Just got to pay for flights so it should be a quality but cheap trip considering where were going. Its a bit of a trek to get there but it all sounds good. So, has anyone been and got anything to report?

One picture perfect beach some nice places to stay but too many drunk Europeans and too many old men with 18 year old thai birds. Can be a nice place but anywhere that has a burger king isn't a good place to visit for me.

What times of the year did you guys go? As said, were going in February and so far it appears to be a decent time to go weather wise ie its hot but above all the humidity is low.

February is an excellent time to be there. I think LPb's comments are a bit harsh, maybe the Laos connection ;-). It's really easy to avoid the "bar scene" on Samui, I'm sure you will enjoy the trip.

Avoid Chaweng and the rest of Samui is very nice. I can highly reccomend the White House hotel, a nice quiet hotel on one of Samui's best (& more sedate) beaches.
