if I were you I would stay away!
one opened in matlock bath recently, if anyone knows of matlock bath you know it gets bloody busy in summer with bikers and tourists, on any given sunday if the sun is out there wil be several thousand bikers and several thousand tourists there.
it closed mid summer for lack of sales!
check out the competition before handing over our cash.

A mate of mine had one for about a year. Subway is a very expensive franchise and at the time was even more expensive than a mcdonalds franchise!! average cost is £120k
they had to go on a weeks training course in usa to learn how many cheese triangles and slices of tomato can go in a sub and how to bake the subs in the morning for a days trading!! every slice counts!! the money is in the coke, buy for £0.001p sell for a quid!
you get a lot of support from the company but to make the money you'd need to open long hours and have a good location!!

McDonalds is much more expensive than that, you also have to work for 6 months as a 'crew memeber' in one of their stores, doing what a normal crew member would do, plus there are lots and lots of requirements.

Where abouts James? I used to live on Temple Walk;I always wondered how a shop selling buckets and spades survived when we were 75 miles from the sea side, but it did.....

iirc my folks looked into setting up a Costa Coffee, that was quite a lot more I think!
Apparently Costa want people who will set up more than one outfit to buy in, I think as well as the buy in price you also need x amount of cash available should you "want" to open another.
But they do have a seperate thing for people who want to buy just one, but it seems they don't like that very much.

Went to a subway at the NEC in brum yesterday and the queued for 30 mins and it stayed like that all day, plus prices were inflated too.
