Pond weed - removal of
Yo, I have a 6m by 3m by 1m deep pond which is lined and has fish.
Last year we had no problem with weed at all (I don't mean algae or floating weed just weed on the liner particularly around the water line) whereas this year it seems we have loads. We have plants/lillies in the pond so just killing anything green isn't really an option. The weed seems to be at its worst at the water line - I can pull it away but only get the excess strands leaving the roots(?) still clinging to the liner.
Ideally I would like some magic potion to through in which kills the weed (or is it algae?), leaving the plants and fish unharmed.
Anybody got any ideas ?

Can you easily lower the pond level, by pumping to waste for example? Leave it low for a day or so which will probably kill the weed at the water line. Or get a big floor scrubbing brush and go around on your hands and knees and physically remove the weed. I use a plastic garden rake and rake up the weed starting at the bottom and up the sides. As said in other threads it seems to be especially bad this year. It does provide a hiding area for any baby fish born this season though. Happy scrubbing. I would try and avoid chemicals if you can.
