Aberdaron on the Nefynn Peninsula absolutely fabulous. Whistling Sands nereby is great and your in next to or in Snowdonia National Park.

Try the Gower .. www.threecliffsbay.com

Tent pitches go right up to the cliff edge . Can be windy. Halfords special suicide tents not advised for the front

Sennen Cove, Cornwall.

Down near Lands End, unspoilt beaches, cliffs & caves. Fantastic remote romantic retreat.

Shell Island is a quality venue as no-one is allowed to pitch within so many yards of you (I think 20) and the tidal causeway adds a certain something. There's also a half decent pub just over on the mainland where the locals all speak Welsh and snigger at you and the food is great.
The only minus points are that there are loads of really poor scouse people holidaying there, but I guess if you like people watching betwix nookie sessions it wont put you off

Nah, it's fine for low level camping all-year-round in the UK (assuming you don't have the same quality of Halfords tents and sleeping bags stevem2k mentioned)
