Interesting to see how it took 48 Hours+ for the water to rise. Explains a little why it took a while for people to appreciate how bad it was.
Certainly on the 1st day after the storm you'd be forgiven for thinking it was just a case of siginicant window replacement and sort the power out from those pics.

Interesting to see a white man's experience. No Superdome or Convention centre pics. No pics of the real suffering and squalour that was going on just a few blocks away.

You can tell from his commentary that the guy had the sense to avoid the areas where the suffering and squalour were, merely by steering away from the sound of gunfire.
Those pics are amazing They also kind of highlight the fact that the authorities had 48 hours to do something about evacuating the area but didn't. They must have been aware of a, the breaches in the sea defences, and b, the fact that they couldn't be repaired, pretty early on

There is also a pretty good chance that the photo log would be half that length if a, The funding for improving the sea defences hadn't been pulled, and b, over 60% of the area's National Guard contingent weren't illegally occupying an arab state

At one point he did say that him and his mate were like "grains of salt in a pepper pot." I wonder what he was referring to there then?
