I have a Drive-Smart too .... but it is not a Radar Detector as per the thread title. It has Laser Detection front and rear (that can be enabled and disabled) and a GPS enabled 'map' of where potential black spots and camera sites are (all camera types including radar ie fixed and mobile Gatso).
The guys at DS are also now selling an external laser detector that fits near the number plate and are also developing a difusser/jammer as well as a combined external laser and radar detector unit for the future.
I too have been very happy with the DS unit, the support provided, and constant evolution of the product .... for example .. soon to include the ability to provide you with your average speed since entering a SPECS camera zone, so you know whether you need to have a '10 minute break down or regulate your speed in the normal way, so that you don't get 'done'.
Its not a sexy looking unit .. but in all other respects ... its very good.
