Default Google Earth and a Pic I took last night.

I took this picture last night from about 1000ft over Buckinghamshire. You can see a Maze cut into a field in the shape of a house.

Then found the same place at the same time of year on Google Earth! Don't know when this was taken. The link below will work if you have Google Earth installed.

If you don't have Google Earth intalled then you should have, it's amazing!!

Blimey you're not wrong there!! I've just traced my entire mountain bike route from a hieght of 800 odd feet and the detail is amazing. Makes MultiMap look silly.

Have you not thought about installing one of those wonderful things called a fuel gauge

Cool.

Google Earth seems to have an old image. The maze looks different, there are a few leaves missing from those trees and one or two of the tracks are beginning to lose their identity. And the curtains are a different colour in the farmhouse window - lol

Have you noticed some things are not there on Google Earth? They've either been blurred or completely removed.

It gets better in areas where the terrain has been mapped, not found any in England yet.

Way too sensible. There is a fuel gauge, I just need a mirror to see the bloody thing

Maize mazes are just starting to open for this year. The one near me has and it's all sea creatures this year. Makes a good afternoon out.

Ok I'm going to look stupid no doubt. What is the joke? I don't get it. I'm tired and had a couple of drinks if that's an excuse.

Why when I search for other places (leeds) is the image blurred? Can I get a sharper image as I can't see anything.

Nah - Google Earth is composed of sat pics from stuff floating in space that the US military don't need any more. Have a look at the Statue of Liberty. Might be different pics now, but first time I saw google earth you could see a blond guy in a pin stripe suit reading the New York Times. Fairly freaky given that this is defunct military technology. The new stuff can probably look at the fibres in the suit and give you washing instructions

I think there are only certain places that have detailed pics, I can't get any detail on places other than London, New York, Grand Canyon, etc.

The detail around my area is pretty amazing, but there are a few low res areas. If you zoom out over the UK you can see which areas are detailed pretty clearly.

Here are the images side by side for those without Google Earth

The one with the boot in wasn't taken by satelite.
