is there a stockpile of explosives in London?
listened to a radio interview this morning with the woman who lives next door to one of last weeks failed London bombers.
She said very recently they were carting 10's of boxes (at least 50) out of the flat into a waiting vehicle.
When she joked what was in them he laughed and replied wallpaper paste.
Surely a major worry?

I'm not so sure they would stockpile home made explosives in a ready to use state, I would guess they are too unstable to be kept for any length of time. However it could be the raw ingredients they purchased to make the explosives. It could have also been rucksacks and plastic food containers.

It may well have been the raw material, which is more worrying in some respects. If all their raw material was made in to explosives at the same time then it is all now dud. If they only used part of the stock and can make more, and it has been moved from that site, then yes, it is very worrying.
Hate to be a Jonha, but I think there will be another attack in some form or another within a matter of weeks.

Inevitable, there are at least 4 on the run with nothing to lose, they are desperate men on the run. The worrying thing is that backpacks will be rather passe now, they will probably use some other method of concealing the bombs

Bearing in mind the failed attackers are being hunted high and low I would say that they would want to attack sooner rather than later, they want to die for the cause and being captured wont be an option for them.
However Londoners are going to be so alert to anyone carrying large rucksacks that if they were to reappear now they would stick out a mile. I know when i've been on the tube lately anyone with a large bag/backpack gets looked up and down. Problem is the tube is full of travellers with backpacks so its not an uncommon sight.
The other worry is that the whole backpack method is dropped infavour of suicide belts which no one will be able to notice

No, the neighbour said they were carting the boxes into the flat, not out of it and they explained they were for decorating.
Who knows how many boxes there were. People tend to exaggerate these things.

They did find a car in Luton which sounded like it was being used as a cache.
And the media are giving the impression the Authorities are only looking for the men in connection with the failed bombings. What about the people involved in the ones that worked? Handlers? etc
