Possible to boost a mobile phone signal ?
I live in a woody area that blocks out signal strength - 1 bar signal strength max most times, causing bad reception & frequently cuts off conversations (T-mobile)
Is there anything that can be done to boost a signal ? Before I change networks wondered if anyone has any ideas.

I believe there are ways to switch off the energy conservation modes of phones, but it's phone specific, and I can't remember exactly what I did to my old Nokia when I was in the same position. No doubt someone here will know

when i was with t mobile and asked them about signal problems they said..."take the battery off without switching the phone off. turn it back on and this will find the strongest signal rather than the easiest signal to find" - probably no difference in the "strongest" and the "easiest", but that was their fob-off line each time. they called it 're-booting'. sounded like cr@p to me, but i did usually notice a stronger signal as a result. phones have moved on a lot since then though...
would be interested to know if the signal booster does really work

Didn't TMobile used to be call 'One to None' and for very good reason.
My last co used to be with Orange - very very few problems but they started to do work for 2 Mob and where bullied into swappping netwroks - mistake!
Lot of dropped calls and out of signal areas still.
T mobile are getting better but still not quite on a par with the big three.
I would change networks.

our work phones have been with;
one2one (now tmobile) - signal wasn't always great but at twickenham, v-festival or any other large event in a decent signal area when everyone else's networks were overloaded i could usually always get a call through
orange - never really had any problems
now with vodafone - can't fault them (apart from the fact that they sponsor the ferrari f1 team!)
