Default paypal - safe enough to use ??

Using the net more and more these days to purchase items and find that paypal seems to be a very popular online payment method.

up till now never bothered with it but over the last few days wondered if I should just sign up and have it ready just incase it is an only option ( ebay etc ?

just need to know if there are any pitfalls / things to watch out for etc ??
also how exactly does the systmn work ?? say you pay for an item using paypal does is payment taken from your bank account straight away and you pay interest on this amount ?? bit confused really !!

anyone want to give me a quick run down and advise if it really is safe enough to use ??

cheers,
john

Dont use your bank account to load funds/pay for items, use your credit card to fund your purchases (not debit card), if there are any problems with your purchase and paypal wont help you, you can charge back the total amount on your credit card.

John
You wont regret using it to pay for items, it is secure (use your credit card as mentioned above), fast and easy and makes getting your purchases alot quicker as it is instant. The only downside is for a seller using paypal to receieve funds as paypal take a small slice (cant remeber on the exact amount, but something like 1.5%)
You also might want to have a look at nochex as this is another favourite, but with this it is usally linked directy to your bank account.
good luck

Never had a problem with Paypal, I presume with the amount of members it has there are obviously going to be some bad stories.
