Default Mariah Carey and the African Children's Choir

Look. LOOK! I CARE ABOUT AFRICA.

Did anyone else notice that the small choir of thoroughly confused looking kids performing alongside Mariah "lovely dress" Carey weren't even miked up?

Oh, and rather than doing the hits, dreadful though they are, she thought it appropriate to do some new songs. Not that in any way she saw this as a publicity event, oh no.

If it's the only way of stopping a repeat performance, I'm all for it.

Hmm, not sure I'd describe her quite like that. Mrs Moose did comment on the chunkiness of Mc C's thighs though.

I used to really fancy the hell out of her when she was a pretty young singer. But since she started hanging around in da hood bussing caps in da *** of any fool dat get in da bitches way, I went off her all of a sudden.

She came across like a right bimbo on the stage with African children. Her presence on stage was cr@p,her presentation and representation for those kids lacked depth and passion.Shes no good for things like that.
She was a super flop-thats what I have gotta say.Vicky beckham singing along her song as a spectator tells which level they both belong

I'd rather do her (or a woman of her shape) than many of the other stick insects that pass themselves off as women these days.

I'd do her too
Was she wearing skimpies ? It was hard to tell cus I couldn't see any through the laces on the side of her dress

Her diva side shrone right through when she asked for a drink and some helper woman came running onto stage with a bottle of something with a straw in it, the helper woman was also carrying 4 or 5 types of different type of creams / lotions, and then near the end she asked for a mike stand and then changed her mind several times. Are her effing legs broke ?? Could she not get it herself ??

Dont criticise the best selling female artist of the 20the century and the best selling artist of the 1990's,who has sold over 230 million records, unless you know what you are talking about.

This is the woman who stated "this is a new song" before warbling on somewhat tunelessly. And who - bringing this back to the original point - shamelessly paraded some little kids for her own glorification, without even letting them sing. Seriously, they didn't have microphones. They couldn't be heard, and were thus there solely to add some ethnicity to the deranged diva's performance.

Reminded me of the infamous Michael Jackson "touch the hem of my gown" performance at the Brits.

Re Coldplay and U2 ...... so which new songs did they do then? Genuinely, I wasn't aware of any, other than the Ashcroft/Coldplay collaboration.

Coldplay did Fix me.
As for the chior, you can hear them, but Hero is not a song that needs a big choir (unlike,Like a Prayer earlier).Admittedly, they werent very loud.

The problem with Mariah Carey is her reputation as a diva precedes her.Just dont say she cant sing, because she can.

I looked for microphones. They weren't wearing any, nor was there even a single mike for them to group around.

As for whether Carey can sing - well, she sells records, but that's no great decider of talent. I genuinely don't think much of her voice, but then I loathe syrupy ballads with a passion, so I'll admit to bias.

Truthfully though, I've never heard her sing anything that made me think that she had any ability, unlike, say, Annie Lennox, whose music I can't stand but whose abilities I respect hugely.
