Not much chance of that, as she has less talent than a average karaoke singer.

Compare to Dido for example. There's *no* comparison. Joss Stone has real talent.
(She will be huge soon - but probably in the States where they appreciate Soul much more)

Put Joss up against women that could/can sing Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, and a bit more up to date Sinead O'Conner, Anne Lennox etc and then tell me she has a deep and powerful voice.
"Whether you like her kind of music or not you cannot deny she has a great singing voice for an 18 year old."
What has her age got to do with her singing ability?

She seems thick as mince, zero personality, a 'forced' minimum to moderate vocal talent, and suffering from a current bout of over-confidence instilled by people like yourself UB.
Hopefully she'll blow over like a quick hail storm.
However.........she performed 'confidently' on Live8 yesterday
As for her performamce on Jonathan Ross, Did she actually realise the magnitude of just 'who' she was singing with......? I think if she had, she might just of rehearsed a bit more
Good luck to her at 18... but I hope the States hear more of her than we do

She can't sing in tune (at least she didn't on either J. Ross or on Live 8), and does not have great control of her voice. Very often she is straining to get the notes, (and to keep them once she has got there), but she gets away with this somewhat by the excessive vibrato on her voice which helps to mask the effect. If she keeps on like this she's going to knacker her vocal chords in a few years...
Vastly overrated imo....

I have, and wasn't impressed. Still too much vibrato on the voice masking the fact that she can't pitch a note correctly. Studio recording equipment can work wonders and masks this somewhat, but for someone with a trained ear it's actually quite painful to listen to... When singing live, she hasn't got all that fancy equipment and multiple takes, and so the result is far worse...
