i-pod earphones fall out when exercising ?
Pain in the ***
From all the reviews on Amazon it appears that the Apple £29.99 in-ear headphones (the ones that you shove right into the canal) are not much better than the standard free ones, although they seem to offer better sound if you can actually get them to stick into your lugs in the first place
Don't want to spend a fortune, just want something that offers equal (or improved) sound quality over the free ones and doesn't pop out when mountain-biking...
Sellotape is not an option
Any recommendations from anyone with similarly freaky shaped ear canals ?
Cheers

Apple headphones are crap anyway, sound and fitting. 1st thing I did when I got my mp3 player was to use proper headphones.
Anyway, Sony have a good range from normal type in ear to right the way in ear ones (fontopia seem to be popular).

I've got Shure E2c earphones. Miles better than the standard iPod ones. Very good quality sound, once you've got them fitted properly. They seem to stay put fairly well. You get a number of different fittings with the earphones, so you should be able to customise them for your ears.

The review reckons that those of us with less than 'Spock sized lug-holes' may struggle with getting the Shure ones to fit ......?
How big are your lugs ?

I can just about get my Shures (E2c) to fit with the smallest rubber thing and lots of force. When they're in properly they don't fall out and sound great.
As an aside, i don't like wearing Shures in the office as it's a right PITA taking them in/out every time someone wants to talk to me or the phone rings. Our office is also quite noisy so i got a set of these:

The Shures are good, but these are in a different league entirely. Crap for exercising though...
So i use the Bose in the office, and the Shures when walking/cycling around.

i bought a pair of sennheissers (sp) from richer sounds, £30 i think, from memory.
they sit on the lugholes, with a band across the head, but they fold up for transpotation in a nifty likkle case, and sound the muts nuts.

Thanks Iwan, it's looking like the Shure EC2 or 3's at the moment......My bike helmet will never fit over the BOSE ones

Not tried these, they are a smaller headphone with active noise reduction.

Have a pair of PX 100's which sound great.
Now looking for a way to get decent headphones on my Nokia 6230i, so I can use that on my bike instead of my iPod, which is too heavy! I may have to do a Heath Robinson job and solder new ends onto the Nokia plug and microphone.

Sony EX71's are excellent value at around £30, perfect for exercise and comfort, oh and a great sound to boot!
Sony MDR-EX71SL's got my vote and money
Very comfy (if slightly down on outright volume)
Hearing sounds I didn't know existed on some albums
Cheers for all the recommendations guys....scoobynet proves its worth once more
