Anyone run a coffee shop here?
As above, thinking of opening one up and just really looking for ideas, suppliers, margins etc.
All advice appreciated thanks

I know a guy Gary Youds who opened a nice coffee shop in Kensington Liverpool called the "Chillin rooms", he has just been arrested though....
Let me search, back in a Min.

My mother is a wicked cook and makes a mean choccy cake and world famous (well in Renfrewshire anyway) meringues. Mother dear has said she will help out with some home baking etc just need to find the best way to buy the coffee etc and whether to lease or buy the machines. I am also planning on having 3-5 Pcs for internet use etc so that the local grannies can access scooby net whilst popping in for a coffee when out and about cruising up the high street!

I ran a small coffee/tea/lunch place for a charity for a while. Can't remember all the figures now but Tea gives the best margin, coffee is OK too but coffee machines are pricey. Jacket spuds with filler were always popular. You could buy pre-cooked spuds at 18p each and add topping say 25p worth. Bang in microwave, serve with lettuce or crisps at £3.50. Little wastage except for remains of topping packs which I think lasted a week in fridge. Loads of suppliers - just look who delivers to local pubs and dellies. Good quality too and you would be hard to match prices even if you did it all at home. DL
