Default The right job for me...heel needed ;-)

Hi all...

I am looking for a job a P/T job right for the summer holidays (3 months) and maybe more? I am stuyding at the University of Hertfordshire (just finished my second year) doing a computer graphics course. I will be 21 in October.

I have applied to lots of sign companies and the likes to no avail.

I have been thinking that do I really want to have a job where I sit infront of a PC doing graphics type of work for a good portion of my life? I don't feel i could do that every day. I also feel that I am not good enough doing this type of work as feel i am no real better than anyone else. I enjoy doing the od bit of graphics now an then wallpapers etc, but only when i am in the right type of mood. I don't think I could do it constantly. I hope you can understand what I am trying to say here.

But my real intrest is cars. i have always been into cars (probably like most of us on SN) and I was just thinking about a job that you get to drive cars professionally some how like test driving them type of thing. As I am a realy keen driver and really enjoy driving. When I comute to Uni some 20mins driving away i try to make the trip as intresting and as fun as I can in my mk3 1.6 8v Astra. This propably sounds stupid.

What advice, comments etc can you give me. (please be nice)
where would i strat to look for a job like this?

Thanks
Darren

Forget being a professional driver, it will never happen.

If you like cars and are studying graphics, then consider going into car design or something like that.

I sit behind a PC designing all day and love it, but you have to really enjoy it to do it all day long.

I have designers working for me and they are a pain in the ****. Trying to get them to do anything at pace is like trying to push water uphill using a needle ....

Now I know why your car is taking so long DW .sits back chuckling to himself....

Gary

scooby ....... your best off trying to get a placement of sorts in a local company. Get some experience under your belt and a few quid in your pocket. Then make your mind up what you really want to do

chaos, you weren't unlucky, you were an hour late calling them up, I hope you enjoyed your lie-in at least.

Remember the harder you work, the luckier you get.......
