A month or so ago I received a strange call to my mobile one evening:

Some woman screaming down the phone at me saying that my number was "on her man's phone". She acted as though I was a woman, shouting and swearing and carrying on about me being ***** and saying she would kill me. Due to the obvious gender discrepancy I didn't bother carry on the conversation too long.

Recently I received a very similar call but this time it was from a man who said the same sort of thing, except now he had found my number "on his girlfriend's phone". He was also a bit more inventive, saying he would knee-cap me, murder me and generally be not very nice. Both callers claimed to "know where I live" although neither provided any evidence.

Both callers sounded of afro-carribean origin.

Is this some kind of half *rsed wind up or have I accidentally got involved in someone's sexual paranoia?

For the record, I haven't phoned or been involved with any of these people, as far as I know.

cool - if it's a wind up that's no problem.

Still, I can't really see the point of it if the people making the call don't know who I am. They sound like adults, not 12 year olds going thru' the phone book looking for mr & mrs wall.

Do they really get a kick out of hearing me saying repeatedly "'I'm sorry, but I don't know who the f*ck you are or what you are talking about."

Oh well - it takes all sorts I guess.

Its a recorded message wind up - have a look in the back of mags like FHM etc for them. Some can be done where the other person can hear you talking to the recorded voice

Ah - that would explain why the woman didn't respond when I asked her if she was f*cking deaf and if I sounded like a bird. I guess they must have pressed the wrong button that time.

How can I find out which c*cksucker at work is sending me these poxy things?

Knee capping and murder though.........taking things a bit far! Can remeber the worse call being an irrate motorist or the VAT man telling me I owed them loads of money.

I had one done a while ago and I kept repeating 'I love you' over and over again until my girlfriend beleived me that it was a recorded wind up and I hadn't 'really' been 'doing' this guys girlfriend

I was thinking more along the lines of something early 20s, female with a nice sexy accent. Then she can phone me up all she likes. I'll tell the wife "calm down dear, it's just another of those prank phone calls".
