They have by us...can't miss it, they are like rumble strips
But more importantly, upon closer inspection - they have put the the lines closer together
So, if this is used to measure distance travelled (and thus speed) by the number of lines you crossed between the two fixed time interval photos. It means the speed they record is now faster than what would be measured previously
A step closer to zero tolerance?
And also a further worry after reading the case about a motorist who investigated the timing interval between the two photos on Gatsos to vary significantly enough to give an incorrect speed measurement

So all they've done is made it more accurate. They can't 'cheat' as the proof is there in black and white. i.e. X amount of distance covered in Y amount of time = speed. So if the lines were 2 feet apart then 4 lines is 8 feet. If the lines are now 1 foot apart than 3 lines is 4 feet.

They re surfaced the road near us a few months ago, they haven't repainted the lines, but i know the gatso still flashes, presumably they can't use any of the photos then

has anyone ever used a can of black spray to wipe out every other line on the roads. seems an easier alternative to beating cameras up, could work just as well and is less obvious.
just a thought

They could still measure your speed though as there are still lines there. They'd probably be able to tell how many were sprayed out and re-adjust the speed estimate accordingly.
Anyway who cares, just don't speed through cameras. Far less effort than respraying lines (which would wear off very quickly) and no risk of prosection for vandalism etc.

Apart from variable flash intervals and destroying calibration lines, the "authorities" are doing a fine job
