You pay for those and the artist gets royalties from those promos?

I buy as many cd's as I download, often if I don't know a group the best way of finding them is through streaming radio and playing it later in the car, if I like I go on to buy an album/combilation later.

I'm glad that so many people are squeaky clean, well done.

djs dont pay for promos (or drinks either)
im on every mailing list under the sun so records are free

Making my own music i'd want as many DJ's as possible to get hold of my songs and play them out. I may not be a big enough DJ for someone to justify spending money to get their music to me, but the ~2000 people i play to a week are all potential customers...
