Easyjet fly to Luton, if you book now you should be able to do it for about £40.00 return with taxes. Then its just a short train ride into Kings Cross.

Its 60 miles which is exactly the same as from Heathrow. Bristol is also about 60 miles but I'm not sure if EJ fly there from Aberdeen, try the website.

BMI (Much, MUCH nicer than Sleazy Jet) are doing one way tickets for around £14 in mid June.

www.flybmi.com

There are coaches from Heathrow to Oxford about every 15 mins during the day.

I went on and checked out the prices for bmi (thanks drunken) and the prices are good and then there about £21 of tax added so for various times during the day they fluctuate between £34 to £52. Which aint too bad. Next question, can anyone help me with finding out about buses or rail travel down there?

I'm in that sort of mood today! OK - getting from Heathrow to Brize Norton.

First of all get from Heathrow to Oxford - there are loads of coaches (National Express, Oxford Link etc) which all leave from the central bus station at Heathrow - bang in the middle of terminals 1,2 and 3.

Failing that you can get the Heathrow Express train and change at Hayes & Harlington.

Next you just need a bus from Oxford Railway station to Brize Norton.

Just go into Google (www.google.co.uk) to find the relevant web pages. The Brize Norton web page had loads of useful info and links to help you find it.

Lastly - don't panic - you won't have to go anywhere near central London!

Good luck!

I stay in Aberdeen & my parents home is about 10 miles from Brize Norton.

The best way is to fly to Heathrow.

Get the bus from the Central Bus Station at heathrow (Signposted and a 5 minute walk from terminal 1) the link for these buses is as follows

http://www.theairline.info/lhr_tt.htm

No need to book, the buses run every 30 minutes and takes about an hour to oxford and they offer a very efficient service. Go to the bus station in Oxford (called Gloucester Green)

From Oxford you can either get a bus or a taxi. It is approx 18 miles from Oxford to the Base.

The town next to Brize Norton Air base is called Carterton although there is a bigger town about 5 miles away called Witney.

The timetable for buses is here

http://www.stagecoachbus.com/oxfords...ney&x=115&y=13

Hope everything goes ok

Bit of a pain seeing the bus drive past Oxford then having to get back there, though. Do National Express do anything Aberdeen->Oxford?
