Supersize Kids
Bloody Hell, is anyone watching this?
That thin girl with all that skin! Her ***** were like 2 flaps of skin.... She looks great now though so well done to her for losing the weight.
And the mother of the 6 year old kid who was 6 stone. She had no clue and was feeding her chocolate and crisps all the time! Some people are stupid.

The point that got on my nerves, was the mum and daughter, who blamed their obesity soley on genetics. Even though, not 5 minutes earlier, she addmitted to SNACKING on a full tube of pringles, large choclate bars and bags of sweets inbetween meals. Makes you wonder what these people are thinking.

Blame it on genetics, think they've done nothing wrong! They needed help and by God they got it. Losing 10 stone between them was good, but to eat slop for the rest of your life? Nice.....

True, but honestly, if your eating that much, you cannot honestly think your genetics are magically making you fat? You have to be putting in calories to get fat, so stopping excessive eating habits and exercising seems the simple answer. Especially if the obbessity is life threatening.

Im not saying that genetics does not play a role, but after a certain point, you just have to look at your lifestyle. I think they are just trying to look for an excuse for their extreme obesity.

I blame the Government. A whole generation of people have been allowed to grow up/become 'parents' (lol) without any dietary education at all.
It's laughable and very sad that it now takes a 'celebrity chef' to do their jobs for them.

The father talked the most sense on the whole program. No wonder he divorced her!

I felt a bit bad for the dad, he was talkin perfect sense about "you are what you eat" and talking about health camps. But i noticed, as soon as exercise was mentioned, the girl started breaking into tears. Heaven forbid she has physical exercise required of her.
Sad thing is, she only thinks this way because of her mother.

I must admit - I have deep admiration for the girl that lost the weight and then had to pay to have the skin removed. That should have been NHS. The dad in the other story was talking complete sense. The fat mother shouldn't have been allowed to kill her kid with pringles and maltesers

I didn't see the programme, but have a friend who seems to be trying to make her child this way. Child is 9.5 months old and during a recent visit, she was fed 5 x 8oz bottles of milk, 2 x portions of baby curry and 1 x baby yoghurt. And this was in a period of about 6 hours. It didn't include her breakfast or the bottle she would be having before bed, apparently.
When I expressed my amazement that babies could eat that much, I was told that you have to space out the milk & food otherwise they become too full on one and reject the other. This child was fed something, be it a bottle or food, every 1 and a half hours to 2 hours. At no point did she even start grizzling to say she was hungry.
All of which would be ok, if the baby was a mover and could use up the extra calories in crawling but the only movement shown was excitement at seeing the cats and playing with the remote control for Robosapien.

THere does seem to be a lot of evidence that overfed children do go on to be obese adults. Fat cells are created that otherwise wouldn't be, and they're impossible to un-create, for want of a better word.
It does always seem to be the cerebrally challenged in society who can't get to grips with the concept of good vs bad nutrition. Last night's programme did nothing to dispel that perception in my mind at least.

Loved the father talking about how it all comes down to how much food you put in your mouth. As soon as the daughter started losing the argument and excercise & diet were mentioned she burst into tears to be consoled by the mother and probably a barrel of pringles and a bucket of maltesers. The mother of the girl then announced at the end how she had just saved her daughters life Never mind she got her in to that condition in the first place.

I worry about my daughter though. She's 6 and 4 stone, so not too bad, but her father's family are big, so I try not to over feed her rubbish because I don't want her to be a fat kid!
I think she is prediposed to be on the heavy side. Means I have to be extra vigilant that she does exercise and I try in vain sometimes, to get her to eat a healthy diet. Kids are kids at the end of the day and if it's green and good for you, they are not always interested!

crap food + no physical exercise = potentially fat
Fairly simple equation I think.
Pity I did not see the show. From the sounds of it though the Father was being realistic about things and the daughter obvisouly did not wish to do any physical excercise, as though it was akin to being asked to work in a slaughterhouse.
There is a whole world of difference from being a little chubby to being full on fat porker. Some people are predisposed via genetics, to be heavy set, you can't change your genes. However, this is not the case for everyone.
I see many TV progs over here with fat yanks, hammering on about how it's their genes and not the daily diet of supersize Maccy D's that made them fat. Get out and get some excercise you porker!
This does sound somewhat hypocritical as I don't exactly do a lot of excercise, and do eat some crappy food, but I at least know I *have* to excercise, even if it's just taking the hound for a 10 min walk, or a quick 10 min bike ride. I'm happy doing that, I don't see it as 'excercise'.

Saw a great quote last weekend:
"It's not water retention - it's cake retention"
Saw the first one - still amazes me how people can still claim not to know what food is good for you.

lol @ that quote Beth. Very true indeed!
I know exactly what is bad for me, but I still keep eating it. I've lived on junk food for at least 12 years and I'm in not to bad shape. But then I do actually walk now and then and get out in the fresh air. Plus I don't eat Maccy D's for every meal. Curry, Pizza, Pasta, Chinese, yes, I'll eat that, but I guess I know when to stop.
Seeing these fat biffers munching through two super size big mac meals just makes me want to throw up. How can they not know that this is bad for them.

She was made up with her new t1ts.
"There mint.." she said.
Bless.
I bet she drove a Saxo.
She was attractive in the face I thought, and she was slim looking when you looked at her face.
But when she took her kit off, I was well shocked.
Reminded me of my mates "Wrinkly" dog.
