I bought a Briggs and Stratton petrol one. Very powerful(5.5bhp) and reliable.I was going to get Dave Wallis to remap it.
Not the cheapest make but one of the best.

Hayter, that I mentioned earlier, use Briggs & Stratton engines. I have to concede that Honda are also good, although not as quintessentially english.

Has anyone tried the new range of John Deere domestic mowers? Despite my love of garden machinery I can't justify buying one of their full size tractors so a "junior John Deere" might have to do

We've had a few hover ones and they always blow up after a couple of years, now got a petrol one which is great and as someone said you don't have to worry about wires. At the moment we don't need one as our rabbit has eaten the grass so short that there is hardly any left, I've let it into the neighbours garden to polish off her garden now. It also chases the cats out so it's a double bonus LOL.
