R.I.P Dave :(
Alas the rather fine Dave Allen has passed away
I remember being in tears of laughter at his shows on BBC1. A sad loss to comedy

used to whatch him loads when i was younger i loved his irreverent view on catholisism and religion in general.
Although he wasnt exactly "out there" in terms of shock and provocation he often had some interesting stuff to say.
I wonder if somone will now finally tell us how he really lost his finger
May his god go with him

Dave Allen was a funny guy, i also remember listening to him as a kid and being in stiches. He helped shape my sense of humour.
Always had a *** on the go whilst on stage.
RIP Dave and i'll have a beer on you tonight

Saw him live on a couple of occasions, filth beyond believe Had us in stitches from the start.
As regards his finger, I remember a routine he used to do when he was acting out a gun fight, pretending his fingers were the guns. He would pick up his stump and say "This guy was using a sawn off shotgun"
As already said, may his God go with him.
RIP

A sad loss. I heard about this on the news last night. As they started to show clips of him, I sat there with a huge smile on my face...before he'd even uttered a word. Shows you just how funny he was. As the clips were shown, I was reminded again of his comic genius - a brilliant man who had no small part in shaping the comic landscape. RIP Dave Allen.
BTW - finger loss was apparently due to it getting trapped in cogs at school.
