spraine or fracture?
Coming back home a week last friday, managed to fall over (too much wine 
) on my hand/wrist, and managed to proper spazz my wrist up, first it went swollen, then bruised, and over a week on it's still causing pain.
I'm not waiting in A&E for 5 hours with a sprain, how do you tell the difference?

Go to hospital now.
Go RIGHT now and you will be in and out within 2 hours most.
I would say that by the sounds of what you said its probably fractured.
And unfortunately im somewhat of an expert on bones in the wrist and breaking them

go to the hospital and get it x-rayed i went 6 weeks with a broken bone in my hand and was told it was ONLY brused and swollen, only saw a junior doctor and never noticed a small bone that was broken. went to my gp after 6 weeks of aggony he took one look at it and sent me to caualty with a note from him, saw a proper doctor down there who re x-rayed it and looked at the origanal xrays, stuck it in plaster for 2 weeks. i now have a funny lump on my hand from where it was broken.

maybe you just clicked your wrist out of place and it hasn't yet clicked back yet? sounds a bit stupid, but it may happen
