spraine or fracture?

Coming back home a week last friday, managed to fall over (too much wine :freak3: ) on my hand/wrist, and managed to proper spazz my wrist up, first it went swollen, then bruised, and over a week on it's still causing pain.

I'm not waiting in A&E for 5 hours with a sprain, how do you tell the difference?

Ta.

So you'll put up with the pain for 72 hours but not wait for a few hours to get it seen to at a hospital.

Are you stupid or something.

Go to hospital now.

Go RIGHT now and you will be in and out within 2 hours most.

I would say that by the sounds of what you said its probably fractured.

And unfortunately im somewhat of an expert on bones in the wrist and breaking them :(

All the Doctor will say is do to the hospital anyway
so you might as well go there first

FASTER MIKE!! 07 March 2005 08:16 PM

go to the hospital and get it x-rayed i went 6 weeks with a broken bone in my hand and was told it was ONLY brused and swollen, only saw a junior doctor and never noticed a small bone that was broken. went to my gp after 6 weeks of aggony he took one look at it and sent me to caualty with a note from him, saw a proper doctor down there who re x-rayed it and looked at the origanal xrays, stuck it in plaster for 2 weeks. i now have a funny lump on my hand from where it was broken.

maybe you just clicked your wrist out of place and it hasn't yet clicked back yet? sounds a bit stupid, but it may happen
