Default Recommend a good business account pls

Just checked with my bank [Nationwide] and they need £5k to open a small business account and they charge £2.50 per cheque after the first 6 in any month. No cards or internet access - you can see why I'm not over the moon!

Its just a simple account for a small business I need, but I do need to be able to check account balances without walking to the 'bank shop'!

Any ideas?

Abbey (prev. Abbey National) is free business banking for smaller businesses.

Just changed to them from HSBC who sent me a letter to assist with debt councelling when I went into the red for £26.00 !! mUpPeTs.

3rd Abbey, been with them for 2 years now and had 2 business accounts!! Not payed any charges to date!! internet banking is as easy as 1-2-3... only thing i dont rate is Visa Electron...but thats only a minor thing...you can get a credit card!!! Call centres in the UK also.

girobank part of alliance and leicester, pay your money in at any post office and you can pay in coins at no extra charge

Another vote for Abbey here too... same as above no charges and after having a business account with NatWest I can tell you, that is a breath of fresh air.
