Work owe me money !
My employer owe me about 300 quid in overtime, mileage, standby etc
Every month I expect to be paid it and it doenst turn up due to our admin dept being crap, I work for a big government organisation so its not like they cant afford it but they keep cocking up, this is really annoying me as I need to repair my car this month and dont want to go into the red doing it.
Any ideas as to how to help this along ?

Tell them you can't get into work until they pay you what you are owed to allow you to fix the car.
Seriously, if it's causing a problem, big government run orgs should generally be able to provide a cash "advance" to cover the money they owe you

I would take it up directly with your personel department and request
a BACS payment plus loss of ******* interest.
Makes me mad bud, if you owed them !

Its not a vast ammount, its just annoying, as the man said, interest, if I go overdrawn to fix my car they wont cover that. I really dont like owing money and I especially dont like being owed money !
I put forms in and about 50% of the time they dissapear or get left in an in tray, bloody annoying when they have your phone bills attached and then they make the grand gesture of paying it just this one time without the bills attached !
I wouldnt mind but if I cocked up and got something wrong, the disciplinary machinery would go into overdrive pretty quickly.

A lot of us where I work had then same problem. We were not getting our standby payments and standby overtime. So as we weren’t getting paid everybody refused to do standby, which in my line of work is could bring the company to its knees within days. They tried to scare us with the usual “you’re breaking your contract of work” crap but they can’t make you do something they’re not paying you for. They soon paid up needless to say.

You can bet that if Pcs weren't getting their overtime (for working scamera vans for instance!) the Police Federation would soon be there sorting it.
